Would you believe.......?

I MADE A CARD!!  Yah!!  I know....pretty silly, right?  If you look back at my posts though, you'll see how long it's been. I just haven't been "feelin' " it these days!  But it's my grandaughter's birthday this week and I know she expects a 'hand-made' card, so I had to bite the bullet and do it.  Yeesh! It was like brain surgery! The coloring part was bad enough, but then I had to try and figure out what paper to put with it and how to put it together - ugh. Didn't this used to be something I used to actually look forward to doing?  Maybe I'm just getting lazy - I don't know.  Have any of you had this problem? The mojo has just gone on vacation....a l-o-n-g vacation!

Anyway...here's what I did. I started with one of Mo's Digital images - "Danielle with Laptop". (I just LOVE Mo's images!!) As soon as I saw this, I thought of my grandaughter! I can just picture her in this position with her Mac on her lap and her cat (Penny) on the back of the chair keeping her company. :)

I haven't done this for so long that I think I really screwed up the shading. (eek!!) It looks like the light is coming from the right in some places and the left in others. Oh dear....think I need to practice some.

I used Copics mostly then did a lot of the shading with Prismacolor pencils/Gamsol. It felt good to color again - love that part!  But when it comes to the putting together of the card, I get all stressed out. I think all of the choices just overwhelm me sometimes. Crazy, eh?  Here's the inside of the card - pretty simple. I add these cute epoxy stickers that I found in my stash that just went perfectly with the sentiment!  Of course I had to add some sparkle too - I put some glossy accents on the laptop and added yellow stickles to the flames of the candles and dotted some Star Dust stickles around the image.

I'm not sure if this will spur me on to do more or not, but it felt good to complete a card!  My stamping days may be numbered!

Hope you have a wonderful week!
